End of Semester Writing Project

More than Just an Essay... (7%) (Due on: Friday 4/25)

After you have completed a written piece and had the opportunity to edit it (it could be a short movie, story, biography, brochure, a report about an Arab country, your own TV show including some ads, etc.), you need to collect the appropriate pictures, practice reading your essay then choose the presentation methods that would best fit the information to be presented. This may be a PhotoStory (great for book trailers, step-by-step directions for recipes or building something in woodworking), Glogster (edu.glogster.com) is a wonderful upgrade from poster-type presentations. You can add movie clips, sound, and images as well as text to these colorful, dynamic "online posters." Animoto allows you to produce a movie using avatar-type characters, sound and music. Voicethreads take an uploaded PowerPoint and allow you to add your voice and also allow other students to leave comments about your presentation, iMovie or Movie maker. The purpose of this requirement is to show your ability and creativity in using the vocabulary and grammar you have learned in class. There is no need to look up new words. The essay should be a minimum of 500 typed words in Arabic (font size =14 and double spaced). Please make sure to follow the above direction and post your final production on class blog combined with a hard copy of your writing script to be hand it in class. You will be graded on your ability and creativity of using varied vocabulary learned in Y111, Y112 and Muhadatha materials, grammar taught, strong and varied sentence structures, reading fluency and voice, visuals and spellings.

Summary:

- Brainstorm and pick a project

- Write the script on your shared Google Docs.

- Provide a hard copy of your writing project to be hand it in class.

- Post your final production on class blog under "writing project" section.

Good luck: حظ سعيد
